What We Offer
When students enter kindergarten they are tested on the skills that are needed to read and perform basic math skills. At The Robin's Nest Preschool we prepare students for what they will need when they enter kindergarten. Potty-training is not required for enrollment, we will assist in the process. We build self help skills which fosters a foundation of confidence. We encourage learning through observation, discovery, creativity and play. We nurture with patience and love
Our Beginning
The foundation for The Robin's Nest Preschool began on the campus of Rutgers The State University in New Jersey. After receiving her Bachelors in Communication & Professional Youth Work from Rutgers University, the Founder & Director of The Robin's Nest Preschools, Ms. Robin moved to Florida. Her 35+ years of experience includes working for Early Head Start, Head Start, & Leon County Schools from Pre-K up to 5th grade. Her experience has reinforced what she was taught in the classroom that birth to age 5 are the years critical for development & growth. "The first five years of life are a critical window because about 90% of a child's brain development happens before age five." "Research from organizations (like the Bipartisan Policy Center) shows that early experiences build the core foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health. A baby's brain doubles in size in the first year and reaches 90% of adult size by age five." "Everyday play and loving interactions shape skills in problem-solving, language, and emotional control.." "Strong early foundations support success in school, physical health, and emotional well-being well into adulthood, having a life long impact." The Robin's Nest Preschool was built to meet those needs. We not only encourage learning but we work to maintain an atmosphere of love & support as children learn. We have taken what has observed in the Pre-K & Kindergarten Classrooms in public school & fashioned a program that prepares our students for elementary grade levels. Because the 1st 5 years are so critical to development we have had students at 10 months old reciting their alphabet sounds before they could talk as a result of exposure. Although the results may not be typical we have had young scholars as young as age 2 & 1 reading and recognizing words. Fall of 2026 a former student who started with us at age 1 slightly before turning two was promoted to Kindergarten at age 4 after testing 100% on his Pre-K skill level evaluation.
